Mark Noble
His performance last night was one of the best i've ever seen in our shirt. Passion, hunger and desire in abundance to win the game for us fans. It meant as much to him as us, he wasn't going to be beat. The words after as well, on his way to going down as one of the greats.

Very proud to have him as captain of West Ham United.

I actually thought Rooney was poor. Loads of misplaced passes, particularly one right near the end where they were flooding our box and he passed it straight to Tomkins. One shot which ended up in the top tier. Lost the ball on a lot of occasions, completely outclassed in the middle. Plus he spent most of the game berating the referee about everything. Should be in the squad, but going by that performance he should be nowhere near the starting XI

Re: Mark Noble
He is one of us. He is a fan lucky enough to grace the pitch like we would all want to. Reminds me of Bonds - great player overlooked at international level but a stalwart and captain for us. Would be nice to see him lift the FA Cup a couple of times.

For the first time in years, with Noble on the pitch and Bilic on the touchline, we have a captain and a manager who both love the club, understand its fans and their passion and give a fuck up until the final whistle.

http://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/14485780.West_Ham_captain_steps_in_to_ensure_lifelong_fan_s_dying_wish_is_fulfilled_as_he_watches_last_ever_match_in_style/?ref=mrb&lp=9

A LIFELONG West Ham fan was granted his dying wish as he witnessed a piece of football history at the final match played at the club's current stadium.

Graham White, 68, from Canvey, had to give up his season ticket at the Boleyn Ground, in Upton Park, East London, after he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2014.

With the Hammers due to play their final game at the stadium, after 112 years, ahead of moving to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, friends and family started a Facebook campaign to get him to the already sold out match.

A post on Facebook by Sue Nash, chairman of South Essex Motor Neurone Disease, was shared more than 11,000 times.

It led to the football club offering Graham and his grandson James, 17, a ticket to Tuesday's match against Manchester United.

But West Ham captain Mark Noble went a step further the day before the match, giving the pair use of his private box at the stadium for the historic occasion.

Graham's wife Pat said: “It just goes to show we are not a nation of bad people. It was so good of him to invite Graham to his box.

“The atmosphere was just amazing and it was a brilliant result at the end. Graham was absolutely ecstatic. It couldn’t have been a better birthday present.

“His team won and he couldn’t have been in a better place.”

By coincidence, the game was played on Graham's birthday and he was treated to the perfect present when West Ham won 3-2 to sign off from the Boleyn Ground in style.

The Hammers had taken an early lead in the match, but trailed 2-1 before scoring two goals in the last 15 minutes to send the sell-out crowd, including Graham and James, into raptures.

Mrs White said: "He’s still buzzing. He’s been reading his Facebook messages and re-watching the game on his phone.

“In truth, I’m not a football fan. I would normally go off and do the ironing.

“But we had Sue and a few friends and family round. We had a bit of a meal and had the wine flowing.

“We had the TV on full blast and all the supporters were singing their heads off.”

Despite not getting home until 2am, grandson James still managed to pass his driving test at 12.30pm the next day, capping off a great week for the family.

West Ham will play at the Olympic Stadium from August onwards.

When I got home and watched the extended highlights, and I saw Noble's face waiting in the tunnel before leading us out.......fucking hell! There was no way on this Earth he was going to let us man u get anything from this match.

If you haven't seen it, have a look. Goosebumps guaranteed.

A comment from a Man U fan who posts on a forum I post on

Mark Noble is a superb midfielder who should be heading to France with 3 lions on his chest this summer- criminally overlooked;

Agree totally that was immense, and I don't know why Sky cut it out of their 60 minute special.

Mind you, there was so much going on at the game, they would struggle to fit into a 90 minute special!

One more time Mark please, rouse the team for one final effort against Stoke.
Don't want Southampton or Scouse to overtake us.
Thank you in advance

Re: Mark Noble
A real Captains performance, leading by example and playing bloody well too. Well worth the MOM and it's a shame Woy was only there to watch Rooney and Lingard.

Blind wasn't even the best Manc player.
I'm quite impressed with Smalling who is actually turning into a very good centre half now and he did very well against big Andy. More than that he seemed to be in the right place to clear most of our balls into the box, when we avoided him we scored it seemed!!!

Re: Mark Noble
Difference is that Noble has self respect, he knows he's English, the only country he wants to represent is England, if he doesn't get the call up then he won't go whoring himself around. Might've guessed that someone like you would show affinity for any nation just to get a game.

Re: Mark Noble
If I was Noble right now I would be on the dog to the Irish FA and tell them that if there are any injuries he will declare for them.

It's such a shame that he won't get to play in a major tournament.

Re: Mark Noble
Can only think that Blind was MotM because of his delightful backheel finish?

I was a little worried about Noble actually because he was flying around the place like a Tasmanian Devil and I thought he might be a little "over-aroused" with the occasion, but him and Kouyate gave their all, and barely put a foot wrong all game.

When Kouyate tracked back in 92nd min and made the interception and then did a cheeky turn and cleared the ball, was absolutley superb.

Since he has got his new 5 year deal, he has been even better than he was.
